AN INSPIRING SEARCH FOR WHAT WILL WORK

I am so moved by mankind's seeking of "truth" and a way of thinking and believing that works to create greater happiness and less suffering.  I am also grateful for the thinking that went into it AND I recognize that much of it is "made up" and/or "vague", such that it is necessary to sort out what makes sense and also to simplify it.

Much of it is "made up" in an attempt to explain the unexplainable and/or fill in a missing explanation.  As such, "nonsense" is produced fairly often, so one must do as the Buddha cautioned: don't believe this, but look at it to see what is true for you.

THE DIFFERENT MEANS TO CREATING HAPPINESS

Although I just quoted Buddha, I separate out Buddhism into the philosophical disciplines, which are also "constructs" of how things work.  The line is fine and often overlaps between philosophical disciplines, spirituality, and underneath spirituality is a number of structured frameworks called religions.  Psychology also overlaps, as it is seeking to have mankind know greater happiness and less suffering, just through different methods.

As I know all readers of this site are seeking greater happiness, I urge you to use all of them.  However, I am seeking to, on this site, integrate them and then to simplify them, so that you don't have to do the original very time-consuming work of sorting all of this out.  I try to direct you away from the nonsense and into making sense of it all and also in using the practical parts to actually make life work better.

WHAT IS SPIRITUALITY?

I discuss this in the section by the same title:  What is "spirituality"?
