MY CORE AFFIRMATION AND LIFE STATEMENT
VALUABLE BEYOND BELIEF

WE HAVE TWO SOURCES OF STRESS

1.  Stress from believed threats, most of which are "social threats" that have no actual impact.

2.  Stress from self judging and faulting oneself (including believing others' criticism).

When we correct these, we have eliminated 99+% of all threats - and the related fears, anxieties, and worries - and eliminated 99+% of all stress!

THE BASIC FUNDAMENTAL TRUTH RELATED TO SELF JUDGMENT

"Everyone is doing the very best his prevailing awareness permits.

How then can we judge or condemn him?

Instead of feeling guilty or "less than" for a mistake, why not simply determine how you could have done "better" and let it go?"
                                                                                    L. S. Barksdale, Essays On Self-Esteem

MY GREAT RESCUE

When I needed to straighten this out, which I did when I discovered Barksdale's basic writings in 1975, this was a 'godsend'.  As I installed it, repeating and memorizing it so it was automatic, this was the version I could recall at the time.  (I used just the first sentence most often, as it reminded me of the whole "no fault" thing.)

We humans simply do the best we can at the time, given the current limits of our awareness.  The person is never at fault or to blame.  The fault lies in the lack of awareness.  Therefore, the solution lies in increasing the awareness.   [Of course, I must assess the cost and net benefit of doing so in any particular situation or with any particular person.  Not all people can be saved, as much as we wish they could be.)

People don't buy this or "get" this, as they think a person is aware of something when he is told about it or through some other informing.  But the concept is much deeper than that, because if a person does not implement and act on something that is good and beneficial then he/she is in a condition of "Insufficient Knowing".
