SETTING GOALS AND VALUES AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE
FOR TEENS



Teenagers set goals based on what they know, which is mostly what they have been exposed to without much thought about it.  Expanding the process for them, using "partners" and "allies" who can assist them, plus a learning program, can literally transform their whole life!

Indeed, I dreamt of being a super-hero, at first in baseball and then as a scientist and then as a businessman who was compassionate and had extremely loyal customers and employees.

VALUES

Values are something that is "of value", which usually means something that lasts.  If we add value, then we accumulate value, like an investment account would grow.  If we just drink lattes and put no money into our investemnt account we will just have had short term pleasure but long term pain.

That's hard to see as a teenager. 

We have a short term outlook:  relieving our anxieties or giving ourselve short term sensations, that will disappear right away, with no lasting values.

To teach values, we should use the teenager media and communication systems that they are attuned to - especially videos, situations that are interesting and informative, and the computer.

I think all teenagers (or even pre-teens) should read and do the Success Foundation course and/or read the book called
