HUMAN CAPACITY
WHY DO WE GET FLAKY?

tba, partial

If we "run out of energy" for doing something, it simply means that our biological system "values" something else more.

But if we get flaky, we take this not as a basic physical management skill to master but as a character flaw (as in "what's wrong you!", "shape up").  That is a useless, and untrue, conversation.  We simply haven't learned what is needed to do the best we can within the limits, plus we haven't learned where the limits are.

So the task is to learn this so we can manage it as best we can!  (Duh!)

If I seek to be disciplined, but instead I watch TV, there was a choice involved here of what has the most value.
True, the choice probably wasn't a truly informed choice, but it was nevertheless a true choice.  (See The Role Of Conflicting Needs At The Same Time.)

SEEING, ADJUSTING,  FOR A LIFE OF GREATER EASE AND EFFECTIVENESS

Choice is always made in light of what is valued, whether the assessment of value is correct or not.

Is my assessment correct?  That's what education is for - and that education, as early as possible, will create immense value in life, in terms of avoiding bad choices that diminish value.

INCREASING THE CAPACITY LIMIT

We don't actually increase the capacity limit per se, as our top capacity is basically determined by our limits of physical potential.  We may have a set maximum capacity right at this moment, but we have more potential capacity, such as is shown in using exercise to increase our overall energy AND to increase the number of brain cells we have (which of course raises that brain capacity).  Sleep is hugely significant, for a repaired body and mind are essential to functioning well.  Diet and stabilizing blood sugar is critical and can be disastrous if you don't heed what is needed or simply greatly inefficient - see Homeostasis (Staying In High Functioning Balance - Absolutely Essential To Living A Great Life!
