ME AS A CORPORATION
AN OVERVIEW INTRODUCTION

IF YOU WANT A PROFIT IN LIFE, YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THIS:

The "profit" in life is happiness,  measured in terms of positive "units of value" accumulated in the treasury of the mind.

My attempt in this piece is to give more clarity, via the use of this analogy or metaphor, as to how profitably you are using your life - and how much you are squandering.

WHAT WOULD A GOOD CORPORATION DO?

Now what business that expected to prosper would go into business not knowing

1.  What products to sell.
2.  What was of value.
3.  What would the expected profits be

Of course, my human corporation's profits are not measured in terms of dollars but in terms of "units of satisfaction" (or, as economists call it, units of utility, or "usefulness", in terms of the results we get in life that are of value to us personally).

Now if I do not know what is of value to me, in terms of units of satisfaction, then I would be operating blindly and rather stupidly.

But, alas, we humans tend to not do a good job of determining well what the value is of certain "products" that we spend our time producing.

WE DON'T KNOW IF WE ARE MAKING ENOUGH PROFIT

We think that if we make more money (beyond a basic "good level") that it will create more happiness.  (Often this is implicitly assumed, without even thinking about it.  This is especially true in America, where there is the great virus  of "affluenza", where many people want affluence so much that they give up their very happiness for it - though there reason we wanted money was to create more happiness.)

Anyway, to have my corporation go intelligently into operation, I have to determine what produces the greatest value.  Let's call that value "Revenue", which is the "income" that I receive, in this case in terms of units of satisfaction.

I only have a certain amount of units of time and effort ("money") that I can invest, and, being rational, I want to invest it in what will produce me the greatest cumulative return in total for the rest of my life - where I will be "rich" in terms of satisfaction with my whole life and how well I have done at running it.

So, the wise manager (you) would do some research to find out what that might be, using the examples of those other corporations that are successful plus accessing the research on what is of value to humans.  (See Models.)  I would then list the top investments (of your time) in order of their payoff (in terms of life value).

It might look something like this:

#1. Health:

It has a return in the present of feeling good.

It permits me to have the energy to spend to do all of the other activities in my life.

It, in a sense, is the machinery with which I produce products.  As such, I will suffer if I let there be too much "deferred maintenance."
(In the U.S., we are not maintaining our infrastructure (roads, bridges, etc.), so we cannot function as well.  Most people agree with that, yet they allow their bodies to suffer from the same thing!)

#2. Knowledge and skills development

This is like health in that it has current returns in terms of feeling better and functioning better, but it also allows one to produce greater value, which means we can produce more money per amount of time, which then frees up more time to do other things of high value - but some people fail to realize the tradeoffs.

It also allows us to know how to harvest life better for better results (satisfaction, happiness)

These two are actually more like investments into something that would produce more return in the long term, though there was some short term return also.

#3.  Prioritize my happiness creators

Learn to be an expert in determining what is of the highest value, and then doing it!

Be great at Gratitude, and loving what is

Do &/or think that which has me feel good about myself

Absolutely create Ultimate Confidence that I can handle the future well

Gain the perspective that life is good

#4.  Get rid of the obstacles

Eliminate the friction of stupid thinking and madeup fears.

Do not allow anxiety and stress into your days at all!  Learn how to be an expert
at managing these and other destructive emotions.

I suspect that you have a clue about your general happiness level in life, but that you might gain more clarity on how you are actually doing by taking each of the items above and rating them an A through F...  Then make sure that EACH of them is raised to no lower than a B, for now, and then raise them all to A's, for we cannot afford the time to live at any lower level!!!!
