THE ESSENTIAL  LIFE-SKILLS
WITHOUT WHICH THERE IS LITTLE PERSONAL POWER OR HAPPINESS

Two key questions

Am I Capable Of. Creating A Great Life?

Do I Have Enough Time?

The two top integrated life skills

From the 5 basic life skills, you would create the two keys to making life work for the greatest value and happiness in life:

1,  How to manage one's time

2.  How to manage one's emotions (and self)

The "Essential Life Skills" are all learnable, and they are part of the "build" in life that has you accumulating what you can count on in life to create a great life.   You can "power life up" by creating greater and greater mastery of

1.   Learning - Powerfully being able to learn
2.   Thinking - Developing True, Straight Thinking
3.   Decision-making - Using the two above skills to make decisions where
you choose what works better in life
4.   Problem-solving - Via the three above, with the ability to problem-solve,
you will have very few and very small "problems"
5.   Wisdom gathering - Accumulating more and more wisdom, and
       correspondingly more power in life.

Invest in this and you'll accumulate what underlies a great life rather than one that is conditional or dependent on events and other people - one where you have these mastery skills that permit you to master life for the greatest level of happiness, far beyond where most people go.

And each additional investment in these will free up more time for everything else you want to do (so there is always a net benefit, not just a cost), have you make fewer mistakes, and have you obtain more and more true happiness.

LISTING - WHAT ARE THE LIFE-SKILLS TO DEVELOP?

THE CORE LIFE SKILLS - From these, we can develop anything we want.  Without them being highly functional is impossible. (The bolded ones are the most important, most core, most necessary.)

I recommend that you pop over to this page as it makes a few more distinctions on what core competencies you should learn, plus you should rate yourself on those and decide when and how much to improve them in order to live a great life:  Developing The Necessary Life Skills For A Great Life.

Learning - The key to it all!  (Yes, learning is a skill.  It must be done with a plan, systematically, based on expertise.)
Thinking, reasoning (Stupid non-thinking, non-reasoning, non-soundbasis assertions - all either harm life or make it much less than it can be.  Luck will not make up the difference in life!)
Problem-solving (This gets us to where we want to be in life, as it is a way of identifying the gaps between where we are and where we want to be - and then how to close the gap!  It is the   most essential skill of all; however, it is based on using learning and thinking-reasoning.)
Decision-making (Part of problem solving, and it is the final cutting off of the other
alternatives - and the process for doing that effectively.)
Reading - Taught in school (Yet we need to dramatically up the effectiveness [speed multiplied by  understanding plus applying the learning, where applicable].  Saves huge amounts of time plus a huge number of errors in life)
Communication skills - Writing, speaking - Taught in school, somewhat

THE "MANAGING LIFE" SKILLS

The change skill (doing it the way that works and lasts ongoingly)
Character development
Stress Management
Emotional management (Incl. impulse management, self-management)
What is wanted in my life (skill of determining and ascertaining what that is and what
    produces true value)
How to get it (Plan, execute, monitor/notice, correct)
Maintaining productive capability (incl. health)
    Health, physical maintenance
    Psychological maximization
Getting satisfaction, happiness, joy, fulfillment, satisfaction, inspiration
Career, producing needed $ efficiently
Basic financial skills
Relationship - Kindness, communication, selection
   Parenting
Information management (ability to research/findout also)
Time management, productivity management (become expert!)

These are skills to become highly competent in, as investing in developing these produces huge life dividends far beyond the investment "cost".   You must be convinced of this.  These are all skills that make your life "unconditional", and ultimately fearless (except for tigers), without suffering, and without dependence circumstances or other people - to where you can contribute to others and the world but are not stuck in having to win approval in order to be ok or having to have someone do something for you.

THE BIG QUESTION - HOW MUCH TIME?

What is the amount of time required at each level?

THE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

All we need now is:

1.  Know the time required See The Plan To Develop The Life Skills, which links
into The Hours Needed To Learn Basic Life Skills

Free up and set aside the time to do these. See  Do I Have Enough Time To
         Create A Great Life?

2.  Have the knowledge (confidence) that this will pay off, big time!  See Am I Capable Of Making My Life Excellent?  Can I Have Confidence In Reaching That High Level?

3.  An order in which to develop these.

4.  A strategy to do it, with a plan to handle the scheduling, fit into hours available

Layering of learning: Learn 101, then 201, then 301

See The Plan To Develop The Life Skills,

THE BASIC LIFE SKILLS:

AUTHENTIC LEARNING - EFFECTIVELY/QUICKLY - Permits you to learn and master quickly
what is needed to make life work better.

Learning The Right Way - Developing Life-Skills Effectively Is Simple - Use what scientists
have discovered and learn to be very highly life-skilled.
        Virtually No Limits
Best Ways To Learn - From on-line, workshops, reading, using partners and coaches...
        One Plus At A Time
Examples Of Paths Of Learning (including the path to "enlightenment")

RIGHT THINKING - THE MASTER SKILL - Beyond low level use of the mind, to skillful and
easy use of our key ability that allows us to do and conquer anything.

        Right Thinking
Practicing And Development Of The "Muscle"
        The "Intelligences" Of Life
Use Of Thinking In Creating Psychological Well-Being
You'll See This In Every Area Of Your Life

THE FACILITATING LIFE SKILL:

PROBLEM-SOLVING AND GREAT DECISION-MAKING - The final step in knowing
what to do in life to navigate to what you want in life - one wise decision after another.

GENERATING THE POWER AND WISDOM TO CREATE WHAT YOU WANT:

POWER - CREATING IT AND MANIFESTING IT IN LIFE - The final step to creating all that you
         want.
WISDOM - WHAT IS IT AND HOW DO YOU CREATE IT?
Also, a critical factor in learning: Distinctions

POWER/WISDOM IN LIFE - CREATING AND MANIFESTING IT

(Link to that page by clicking on the title above.)

Power is simply the ability to cause something and, in this context, it is the ability to be very effective.

Note that "thinking" and "learning" are all essential pathways to increasing one's wisdom and thus one's "power" in life.  See. under Life Management, Power In Life.

Read the section:   WISDOM - WHAT IS IT?  HOW DO I GET IT?  IS IT WORTH IT? - Possibly the biggest decision you'll ever make in your life.

Some Tools And Contexts:

Powerful Languaging - The difference in energy that is derived from simply changing the tenor of one's languaging is immense.

See the section called Responsibility Vs. Victimhood - Possibly the greatest key to power in life.
