"Right now, at this very moment, we have a mind, which is all the basic equipment we need to achieve complete happiness."
The Dalai Lama, in The Art Of Happiness
Oh, and you'll also need time, because you must handle all of the parts of life and getting what you want. The good news is that you actually have plenty of time for all of this - and the even better news is that if you do all of this as early as possible, you'll have even more time, as it will no longer be occupied with crappola (an ancient Buddhist term). How about it, will you complete the process???
THE PROCESS SEQUENCE:
LIVING LIFE: LEARN AND TRY, EXPERIENCE LIFE:
Management of the "doing"
You're born, you learn, you develop thinking (a little), you make decisions, you run into problems - and hopefully you develop great skill at "problem solving", so that your problems are managed well and so that the decisions you make are wise toward creating happiness and a smooth life.
Then you'll find your problems are created from false beliefs and non-acceptance of life the way it is. There will be fears to overcome, most of them based on false beliefs - so you examine the poorly working beliefs, and create new ones (or stay stuck with the old ones that couldn't have been perfect in the first place).
At some point, you take charge of your life and decide what you want - and then learn how to get it, via a mandatory skill of planning and implementing it to get what you want.
At first, you will mostly want to play and have short term gratification and then you'll learn (or not) what is the most valuable - and then you'll prioritize it and learn to manage your time to get the most out of what is of most value. You'll learn (or not) how to manage your physical energy machine and your brain to be the most productive. And you'll learn (or not) the principles and laws that work in life.
If you pay attention to those basics, you will then have a successful life, not just in looking back on it and not in achieving, but in enjoying the journey and being fulfilled.
Link into these areas to see if (or, rather, what) there is to learn. Yes, there is a fair amount of work to do, but it will pay off in having a great ability to live life fully, not wasting it but injecting full satisfaction into it.
"You can go to the lake (life) to get water (happiness) with a small cup or a huge pail - it is your choice. Live small or live large - it is your choice."
